Beechcraft B200 equipped with Universal Avionics ClearVision EVS-4000 Skylens

Global Aviation Tech LLC FAA Approval pending for the ClearVision™ Upgrade in King Air B200/300 Aircraft

2024-02-06 – Global Aviation Tech Director of Marketing & Development

Wichita, KS – February 6, 2024 – Global Aviation Tech LLC (GATECH) proudly announces completion of all certification testing in support of FAA Approval of Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) authorizing the integration of Universal Avionics’ ClearVision™ Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS) with SkyLens™ Head-Wearable Display (HWD) technology in the Beechcraft King Air B200/300 aircraft. STC issuance is pending review of the final type design data package.

In the latter part, of 2021 GATECH was approached with a proposal to pair the EVS 4000 and wearable HUD system with the King Air’s airframe to support an enhanced flight vision experience for pilots. The company’s in-house engineering team enthusiastically accepted the challenge, meticulously planning the proper installation and cost-effective implementation of the system.

The ClearVision™ system enhances situational awareness and provides pilots with a clear “out of the flight deck” view of terrain and weather conditions, even in challenging circumstances like darkness, clouds, or heavy smoke or fog. This state-of-the-art technology improves safety and operational efficiency during critical missions such as aerial firefighting and emergency response in remote or difficult-to-reach areas.

ClearVision™ is a complete Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS) solution providing head-up capability combined with enhanced vision (EVS) and synthetic 3D terrain display (SVS). It features a large field-of-view, with the brightest and highest resolution HUD for commercial aircraft in the market. Its unique pilot-friendly split screen display allows the user to change between the two background imagery areas for optimal control.  ClearVision now allows intuitive out-of-the-window flying.

GATECH’s precise management ensured the timely completion of the integration, aiming to showcase the upgraded Beechcraft King Air B200 at the Aerial Firefighting Conference in March 2024 in Sacramento, California. This event offers an ideal platform for stakeholders to witness the capabilities of the ClearVision™ system firsthand and evaluate its potential to enhance wildfire response and emergency operations.

GATECH’s commitment to innovation and collaboration has resulted in this groundbreaking achievement, further solidifying its position as a leader in the development and integration of advanced avionics systems for the aviation industry.
